During our initial consultation, we will discuss the overall details of your project, which include inspiration and budget. At this stage you might already have scrapbooks bursting with aspirational images, or, maybe just an inkling of what you want – a paint chip you love, or a particular piece of furniture whose style you want to emulate – it’s my job to work with you to create a cohesive design that brings your vision to life.
Although I sometimes meet with first-time clients in my showroom, I almost always recommend an on-site meeting for our initial consultation. This gives me an opportunity to take accurate pictures and measurements while giving me a better idea of your style and a chance to observe how you interact with your space; all of which help me to design something that is an accurate reflection of both you and your lifestyle.
This is the part of the process that I embark on alone, although my clients are welcome to contact me at any stage to discuss the end product. Collaboration is key to any great relationship and the design process between myself and my clients is no different.
This is one of the most exciting steps of the design process as it will be the first time you set eyes on your design. During this meeting, I will present you with an original design proposal that includes 3-D renderings, options for door styles and finish options, as well as tile or floor samples to give you a full picture of what your finished space will look like once the project is completed.
This is also the point at which we can discuss any ideas or changes* you might like to make to your design based on your needs and budget. Your original design proposal includes a detailed quote, which we will discuss in detail before moving ahead.
*Your original design proposal includes one round of changes at no additional cost. If further changes are requested, I require a design deposit that will be subtracted from the total project cost should you decide to proceed with the project.
*Original designs are included with the project. If you would like to purchase the designs separately, they will be billed on a project-by-project basis.
READY, SET, INSTALL!
You’ve approved the design and budget, you’re ready to move forward with the project, and you’re itching to see your new space! After our contract is finalized and a deposit* has been made I will provide you with original copies of your designs and perform a final measure of your space. During this step we will also confirm your choices of finishes, door styles, countertop selections, handles, and accessories. At this time I take over as project manager and order all the necessary materials as well as put together a schedule for delivery and installation.
A 50% deposit is required to begin the project while a further 45% is due at delivery of products and the remaining 5% upon completion of project.
Congratulations! By far the best part of the process, this is the stage where there’s nothing more to do than sit back, relax, and soak up your gorgeous new space.
